I was registered for Pittsburgh 26.2, however, due to COVID-19 Pittsburgh Marathon was switched to a virtual race. I did not feel strong enough to do a full 26.2 mile marathon virtually without race support, therefore I decided to run the 13.1 half marathon distance as a virtual run.
I planned to do my virtual 13.1 distance on the original race date of May 3rd in Hamburg, PA. There isn’t much to report on the run itself. I ran on the Bartrum section of the Schuylkill River Trail. I wore my Brooks Launch Pittsburgh shoes. I took a few GUs with me and I hid a water bottle under a car tire for a small break at mile 9.
I had a few running friends who were also completing virtual runs. We all ran separate distances and paces but came together at the beginning and end for a group photo. The Pittsburgh Marathon offered Truly’s at the finish line and I had a few too many at my finish line. (Shout out to my guy for being my post run DD)
