The D&L Rail Trail runs through a variety of towns, including Jim Thorpe. The trail is planned to span a total of 165 miles and connect Wilkes-Barre to Philadelphia when complete.
When visiting the Jim Thorpe section, free parking is available at the Glen Onoko Trailhead. Parking in downtown Jim Thorpe may not be free.
The trail itself is fairly flat with a crushed stone surface. The Jim Thorpe portion passes through many scenic areas and leads to downtown Jim Thorpe where there’s many shops and restaurants to enjoy. Runners may even get a glimpse of trains rolling by on the neighboring tracks.
Pros: Nice scenic trail, not overly crowded, options to run downtown
Cons: Downtown parking is not free, some parts do not have cell service for streaming music
