Central Park Half (NYC)

The Central Park Half Marathon was held Feb 24th 2019. I paid $65 early registration, there are 4 different prices depending upon time of registration.

Through 12/13 $65
Through 2/10 $75
Until online registration closes $80
Race Day  (if available) $100

This race is in its 6th year and is part of Triboro Challenge which includes Queens Half Marathon April 13, 2019, Brooklyn Half Marathon Saturday Oct 19, 2019. The finisher medal will all connect in a puzzle when done.

NYC Runs offered free finish line photos and video available on Facebook.

It was really confusing to find the bib pick up, starting line and finish line for spectators. The maps on the race website was generic and didn’t account for all the small trails through Central Park. I saved “Springbanks Arch” on Google Maps and used it for public transit directions. I used Uber to the start because I was unsure of travel time via train.

The race offered plenty of port-a-potties throughout the course, which is important because NYC has a lack of public restrooms. The course was 2 x 5-mile loops through the park with the final loop being a little shorter.

I asked people on my social media to tell me their favorite places in NYC, below is a complied list of responses.
