This review is a little shorter and sweet. I took part in the Christmas City Classic 5 miler along with a few friends. It was a great time and great way to spend a Saturday in December. The race takes place in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania which is nicknamed Christmas City. (Click here to find out why it’s called Christmas City)
The Christmas City Classic is a traditional race with over 20 years of history. It is voted the #1 Themed Race in the Lehigh Valley. The race offers both a 5 miler and a 5K option. Both the 5 miler and 5K start and finish at the Bethlehem YMCA, the 5K starts first followed by the 5 miler.
The best part about this race is the people who participate. Everyone dresses in a Christmas themed custom which is both hilarious and fun. This was the first time I dressed up for a race, I was a snowman.
The race swag offers a long sleeved t-shirt, Philly soft pretzels and cookies. The 5 miler had one water stop along the course. Restrooms at the start and finish are available both inside or port-a-potties outside. The race proceeds benefit the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Pros: Fun costumes
Cons: Not a fan of different start times
