In the US, it is estimated 1 million people are affected by Multiple Sclerosis. Multiple Sclerosis is an immune-mediated process where the body has an abnormal response in the immune system that is directed against the central nervous system. The immune system causes inflammation and damage to the myelin. The damaged areas develop scar tissue, multiple areas of the scarring or multiple sclerosis. The cause of MS is unknown.

MS research is important to finding a cure. That’s why 100% of the funds raised from the 5th Regional MS 5K Run / Walk will be donated to Multiple Sclerosis research; the beneficiary is the Ann Romney Center for Neurological Disease at Brigham & Women’s Hospital.

The 5K offers a run or walk competition and a wellness 1 mile team stroll. Kids & dogs are a must!

There will be complimentary an early-bird yoga & meditation session sponsored by ReBalance Yoga Therapy and a race warm up led by Cross Fit Sine Pari.

Afterwards, stay to participate in fitness contests, watch the Crossfit competition, or take part in the interactive sports related demonstrations. There will be a kids and adults obstacle course led by In Motion Fitness, and a stretching & flexibility interactive presentation led by Remix Fitness. Enjoy over 50 vendors, free food, music, rescue pocket pets petting zoo, a dog CPR educational talk, giveaways, and more.
