This was my first year running the Blarney & Stone 15K trail run. The terrain was mostly hiking trails which, for me, are difficult to navigate as I like to take it slow on trails to prevent injury. The race registration was $34 and included a short sleeve tech shirt and a egg and pancake breakfast.
Participants enjoyed the “Irish” themed race, many dressed up in costume, and there were riddles along the course. The race had plenty of ample parking and indoor restrooms at the start/finish. Out of 15K there were only 2 water stations, which could have had more. Overall, the run was fun and challenging.
Trail runs are not for me, as I don’t think I’ll be doing too many more of them. Are you a trail or a road runner?
